Check Versatile
Multi-interface test benches
Under the name Check Versatile lies a multi-purpose, adaptable and multi-interface test bench.
Very useful for small series markets, this family of test benches makes it possible to pool together functional and even structural testing needs for several products.
Equally at ease in larger volume markets, the system’s architecture makes it possible to use several identical interfaces as regular maintenance equipment.
It is designed to accommodate several interfaces on a single connector and offers several options for maximum test coverage.
Technical specifications
Multi-interface
Check Versatile test benches are all equipped with a unique connector system well known to interface manufacturers. This enables the development of standard interfaces that can be accommodated by the bench. It is possible, as with an in-situ tester, to have a large number of interfaces (and therefore products) attached to the same tester.
These testers are easily and quickly duplicated by using standard test-industry units (or “building-blocks”) and generic Tame-Test units (“building-blocks”).
Infinitely customizable
Tame-Test customizes your Check Versatile test benches according to the types of measurements adapted to your product.
The Versatile line of test benches, based on technological hardware and software “building-blocks”, automate processes by controlling instruments, interfaces and other accessories.
They can include several options in addition to their basic “functional test” function:
Structural testing:
- Fully integrated in-situ testing function
- Up to 700 test points
- Continuity and short-circuit testing
- MDA (Manufacturing Defect Analysis) testing
- Possibility of adapting a dual-level interface for this use case
- Avoids testing products on a shared medium and depending on a constrained schedule
Vision testing:
- Embedded camera
- Ideal for testing screens, front panels or LEDs
- High resolution
- Records and saves images
Boundary Scan testing:
- Several technologies (JTAG, Goepel, TH_JTAG, etc.)
- Programming
- Scan chain testing
Continuity/Isolation testing:
- From 10V to 1000V DC
- 200 GigaOhm
All input and output data (results) are centralized through a network and analyzed by the Tame-Data software suite.
Scalable
The Check Versatile line of test benches has a flexible architecture which enables the scalability of testing capacities. Adding new power supplies, communication functions, simulators or specific tests is possible.
Technical functionalities
Why choose this product?
The Versatile line is generally used to group the functional tests of several products on a single tester. This allows you to have an automatic tester by spreading the costs over the different products. This is an investment that would not have been possible unitarily
When to use it?
Versatile test benches, intended for professional use, are not laboratory tools but production tools, the aim being to provide a tool with a high level of automation. This has the advantage of eliminating the risk of errors linked to manual operations and the tedious and error-prone task of entering test data.
They are designed to be handled by a simple operator under the supervision of a technician or engineer for the measurement analysis. (Operator, technician and developer modes integrated).
The integration of ergonomic constraints specific to your product, site and personnel is taken into account, in addition to our ergonomic approach, in the fight against MSD (musculoskeletal disorders).
Applications of Check Versatile range
In order to gain a better understanding, here are some use cases illustrating this equipment:
Use case n°1: Active Implantable Medical Device
Stéphane, founder of a medical startup, is the inventor of a medical device for heart failure. He is approaching the production phase of his medical device and wants his product to be flawless. His product integrates 3 different types of electronic cards.
After agreeing with Stéphane on the test strategy, Tame-Test offers him a Check Versatile tester capable of accommodating 4 interfaces, one per board reference and one for the assembled product. After a few weeks and after his feedback from the first clinical trials, Stéphane asked to implement a tilt test in order to calibrate the accelerometers. Tame-Test, not changing anything on the original Versatile tester, develops a 5th interface equipped with precise mechanical movements to meet Stephane’s needs. This test is performed by the existing tester with this new interface.
Use case n°2: Aeronautical Computer
Emma is an NPI manager at an aeronautical equipment manufacturer. She wants to set up an automated functional test for all the ECU boards entering production. The ECU includes 12 different board references. The dilemma Emma faces is the production rate. This ECU will equip a business aircraft, manufactured in small series.
Tame-Test proposes a Check Versatile tester able to accommodate these 12 interfaces. Several boards require electrical isolation tests, usually performed manually before the functional test. Tame-Test, with its expertise, embeds this test in the Check Versatile tester proposed to Emma. In the same way, this ECU is equipped with a front panel including a control screen and several LED alerts. The tester will be equipped with a vision test capable of reading the status of the screen and LEDs in a single image.
